HuisVeendam is an innovative company that manufactures decorative sheet panelling. The biological laminates we make on various carriers manufactured from organic waste, catch of crop and special crops.
Our library of experiments already includes hundred different laminates from fibres and plants. From these we selected a basic collection of six bio-laminates which is expanded annually. For special projects we also produce custom bio-laminates.
HuisVeendam has advanced knowledge of adhesives based on potato starch. Potato glue has been around for a long time but has been close to forgotten with the arrival of petroleum.
Right now the development of environmentally sustainable alternatives is essential to reduce the use of these petrochemicals. With this ecological knowledge and analysis, these adhesives, now again, have a bright future.
The possibilities are endless. The bio-laminates can be produced from a wide variety of organic fibres; ranging from potato peel to tulip leafs, grasses to autumn leafs and onion peel to lavender.
On request, we even make your own fibre laminates.
The strength of our product is in the story behind the fibres we use. We upgrade fibres wrongly perceived as waste, reveal the link with origin and region, and stimulate the subconscious recognition of colour, scent and shape. The warmth and rich content of our bio-laminates are as intense as their visual beauty.
The bio-laminates are available as a sheet material and are easy to process in applications such as wall coverings or cabinet doors. Also applications in objects such as desk or table gives a very original and beautiful result.
You can always send us fibres of your choice. In our lab we can determine if they are suitable as raw material for your custom bio-laminate.
