Tjeerd Veenhoven enjoys experimenting with materials and production techniques.
In a playful, freestyle way these experiments turn in to products, showing
that form and beauty can be derived from an inventors brain. In his opinion
a designer should design from scratch as often as possible and should try
to avoid restyling products just to make them more trendy. The creative
mind of a designer should focus on renewing peoples view on everyday products.
He does this by inventing and experimenting in the early stages of design
and thereby creating eclectic pieces which each a specific qualities. Beauty
is a subjective thing, function not always as relevant, development and perseverance
most crucial of all.
Tjeerd Veenhoven presents his latest designs. And once again the key to shape and function is based on experimentation with materials and production techniques. Working in the north of Holland in a studio filled with strange materials, homemade machines and countless ideas he derived a chair, Gummi, completely moulded in rubber, a new and improved collection of Hard Coated Foam Tiles and inspiring samples, and the CampFireGrill upturned fire basket/campfire grill.
